Jamaican Cornmeal Porridge Recipe


1 QT Whole Cow’s Milk

1 Can Coconut Milk

1 1/2 Cups Cornmeal

1 Can Condensed Milk

1 Cup Brown Sugar

1 1/2 Cups Water

3  Bay Leaves

4 Cinnamon Sticks

2 Tbsp Vanilla

1 Tbsp Nutmeg

Start Cooking:

Bring milk and coconut milk to a simmer in a large pot with bay leaves and cinnamon sticks.

Make slurry with cornmeal and water.

Add slurry to milk mixture.

Lower heat to a light simmer STIRRING OFTEN

Once ingredients are combined, add spices and sugar

Turn off when at desired thickness.
